The Beast

Just finished Chapter 12 of The Fourteenth Quilt. It is titled "The Beast."

"The Beast" is the biggest chapter in this book so far, weighing in at 5,130 words. I've done my best to make all those words entertain, educate and amuse. Any quilter who has worked on a project where everything seemed to go wrong should appreciate it.

Up to 34,877 words, this novella is about two-thirds finished--I think.

Trails and Rails Temporarily Derailed

Then again, I am working to fulfill a goal I have had for several years. I have wanted to write one of those warm and fuzzy Christmas novellas that help readers feel the spirit of Christmas. My problem has always been, what will I write about? Every time I read one of those wonderful Christmas Spirit stories, I want to have been the author of THAT story. But, it doesn't work that way. I have to come up with my own story.

With a little help from my friends, I have my Christmas story. My working title will be The 14th Quilt~A Christmas Tale of Three Quilters Just Doing the Best That They Can.

Since some publishers put out a request for Christmas novel offerings about April or May of each year, I have my work cut out for me to get this done by that goal date. THEN I will return to my Trails and Rails series.
